• Background and Early Life: Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat was born on 7 October 1972 in a small village in Pauri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand, and completed his early education at the village school. He went on to earn a master's degree and a doctorate in History from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna (HNB) Garhwal University.
• Political Career: Dr. Rawat's political journey began through his long association with the Bharatiya Janata Party, where he served as a party secretary in Uttarakhand. After an unsuccessful attempt to win the Srinagar Garhwal assembly seat in 2012, he was elected as MLA from the same constituency in 2017 and has represented it since.
• Role as Minister of Education: Since becoming a Cabinet Minister in 2017, Dr. Rawat has held key portfolios including School (Basic and Secondary) Education, Higher Education, Sanskrit Education, Health and Medical Education, and Cooperatives. Following the March 2026 cabinet portfolio reallocation, he continues to oversee School Education, Higher Education, Health, and Medical Education.
• Initiatives and Policies in Education: Under his tenure, Uttarakhand's higher education Gross Enrolment Ratio reached around 50% by 2025, and state board results showed a four-year high pass percentage in 2025. He has also driven curriculum reforms in line with the National Education Policy 2020 and outlined a 2025–2026 higher education roadmap at the Shiksha Samvad Chintan Shivir in Dehradun.
• Challenges and Vision for the Future: Dr. Rawat continues to focus on strengthening rural education infrastructure, expanding healthcare access through district hospitals and medical colleges, and improving enrolment and learning outcomes across the state.

Professional Career

Pushkar Singh Dhami ji ne apni rajnitik yatra 1990 mein Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) se shuru ki thi. 2002 mein woh Uttarakhand Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) ke pehle pradhan bane aur 2008 tak is pad par rahe. Woh 2012 aur 2017 mein Khatima vidhan sabha seat se MLA chune gaye. 3 July 2021 ko Tirath Singh Rawat ke isteefe ke baad unhe Uttarakhand ka 11th Mukhyamantri banaya gaya, aur woh 45 saal ki umra mein rajya ke sabse yuva CM bane. 2022 vidhan sabha chunav mein Khatima seat haarne ke bawajood party ne unhe dobara CM banaya, aur baad mein woh Champawat upchunav se vidhan sabha sadasya chune gaye.

About Him

Pushkar Singh Dhami ji ka janm 16 September 1975 ko Tundi gaon, Pithoragarh zile mein ek Kumaoni Rajput parivar mein hua tha. Unka parivar baad mein Khatima ke Nagla Tarai Bhabar mein aa base. Unhone Lucknow University se Human Resource Management mein post-graduation aur usi university se LLB ki padhai poori ki. 2001 mein woh tatkalin Mukhyamantri Bhagat Singh Koshiyari ke Officer on Special Duty (OSD) ke roop mein karyarat rahe, aur rajya ki urban monitoring committee ke vice-chairman bhi rahe.

ज्योति यादव  उत्तराखंड कैडर की 2009 बैच की एक कुशल भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा अधिकारी हैं। उन्होंने दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय से अर्थशास्त्र में स्नातक और स्नातकोत्तर की उपाधि प्राप्त की है। वर्तमान में वे 24 जुलाई, 2026 से देहरादून स्थित विद्यालय शिक्षा विभाग (प्राथमिक और माध्यमिक) में सचिव के पद पर कार्यरत हैं। ज्योति ने संयुक्त सचिव, उप सचिव, निदेशक (जनगणना संचालन), अतिरिक्त सचिव, जिला कलेक्टर, मुख्य विकास अधिकारी और निदेशक सहित विभिन्न महत्वपूर्ण पदों पर कार्य किया है। अंग्रेजी और हिंदी में निपुण ज्योति भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा में समर्पण भाव से अपना योगदान दे रही हैं।
